For a little over eight years NRG has served the Port Charlotte Community under the Sunsplash name as innovators in helping to educate a better way of life through organic foods and while Sunsplash has become synonymous as an organic health food supermarket. NRG (The Natural Retail Group) a division of United Natural Foods Inc. which is the parent company for Sunsplash has been well known to the health food industry since 1993 with 13 retail locations (nine on the West coast of Florida, one in Key West Florida, two in Maryland and one in the Cape Cod area of Massachusetts).
NRG had been planning to upgrade its Port Charlotte location for some time to keep up with the changing of times and chose this holiday season as the most auspicious and most appropriate to end one chapter and begin another. The renovations took place between the 15th and 17th of December to prepare for the January 8, 2009 re-grand opening to invite a whole new beginning for the New Year. A new name was also chosen “Port Charlotte Natural Foods” as it will be known will continue to offer the same high standard of product excellence and customer service. NRG feels the name change will reflect more of an alignment of our customer’s lifestyle and our product line of organic health foods
According to Erin Moline the Stores General Manager a book nook has also been added which will allow customers to sit, relax, read or sample music. We’ve also added a new color scheme “baby breast blue”.
